


Wendy McQuaig, M.S.W., R.S.W., R.P., has 35 years experience in the field of psychotherapy. During that time she has worked with thousands of Individuals, Couples, Families, Teens and Children throughout Simcoe County and Muskoka.. She has a Master's Degree (MSW) from the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a Registered Social Worker (RSW).

The therapy is provided in a professional, informal, comfortable setting. Wendy works with a range of mental health issues including: depression, anxiety, stress, retirement planning & adjustment, issues facing seniors, couple conflict, blended family issues, separation, parenting, grief etc..

Wendy is able to draw from a repertoire of theoretical approaches depending on the situation. Most commonly she uses a strength based approach, ie. Solution Focus, or Brief Therapy. She may also employ Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you and your partner or family achieve your goals.

Wendy McQuaig, M.S.W., R.S.W., R.P., has a Masters Degree from University of Toronto in the field of Social Work, with a focus of study in psychotherapy. She is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and is a Registered Psychotherapist. She is also a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is a Registered Social Worker. In addition, she belongs to the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. In addition, Wendy has a Bachelors Degree from Queen's University where she studied General Arts and Psychology.
Since 1989, she has worked with thousands of individuals, couples, families, teens & children from throughout Simcoe County and Muskoka.
For several years, she was also a Sessional Professor at Lakehead University (Orillia) where she taught Clinical Foundation Skills for the Post Graduate Bachelor of Social Work Program.
Wendy is a popular speaker on a variety of mental health topics related to both workplace and personal issues.
Wendy is experienced in working with children and families. She spent 10 years working in the field of Children's Mental Health with children, teens and families. Wendy uses play to help children communicate and express
themselves. She also includes parents in the therapy to help them better understand how to assist their child with the issue he/she is struggling with as well as providing parents with useful resources.
In addition, Wendy provides family therapy for families going through a difficult time, struggling to get along., or blending into a new family.
TEENS: Wendy does a great deal of work with teens, whether they just need a place to talk or to work on something specific.

The therapy setting is a professional, informal, relaxed environment where you, your partner or family, can feel at home. Wendy is skilled in the art of listening and helping clients move forward at their own pace.
Wendy often gets very positive feedback from her clients and frequently hears from them how helpful the process has been. Therapy sessions are scheduled according to your needs. There is no set number of sessions you must attend. Therapy does not need to be long to be helpful. Often 3 or 4 sessions can make an important difference. Come and try an appointment and see if you find it helpful.
There is an hourly fee for service and there is no sliding scale. Feel free to call or email for information.
The psychotherapy is covered by most benefit packages. A receipt will be given at the end of every appointment. If you can claim it through benefits or insurance you are welcome to. Wendy is a Registered Psychotherapist (R.P.) & a Registered Social Worker (M.S.W., R.S.W.) . If you have coverage for either, her services would qualify. If you do not have coverage, you can claim the fee as a medical expense on your tax return.
Payment can be made by Visa, Master Card, debit or e-transfer.
Wendy has a very active, full time practice with an extensive referral base from family doctors, schools, lawyers and other professionals. However, there is
NO REFERRAL NEEDED.
